“Artificial Year Bearers in January” is a Spanish manuscript by Geraldine Patrick Encina that analyzes pages from the Book of Chilam Balam of Kaua and the Perez Codex in which a sequence of years appears until 1821 with year chargers located on January 12. It is concluded that the days of tsóolk’iin and ja’ab are managed according to the original system identified by the author for Yucatán (with beginnings in 2 Pop and chargers Cauac, Kan, Muluc, Ix) on the Gregorian date August 15, and that on that system January 12 (12 Mol) was chosen to equate it to the Sunday system at the beginning of January of the Catholic calendar.
