Raising Awareness and Understanding of Traditional Timekeeping

Our Mission

The mission of Timekeepers is to support communities that are recovering the philosophies, knowledge and practices of Lifecycle Living by sponsoring on-site intercultural dialogues and teachings that combine traditional and modern informational modalities.

To fulfill this mission, we shall create culturally meaningful and appropriate settings for the understanding of our time-space interrelations with ecosystems, watersheds, sister communities and relatives. Those settings are to include spaces for sharing our indigenous cosmovision and creation stories, such as: schools of ancestral calendars, sacred sites, sweat lodges, traditional festivities, agricultural lands, forests, mountains, lakes, rivers and seas. The MUTUAL understanding will enable the recuperation of healing practices, traditional agricultural practices, foraging, fishing and hunting techniques as well as the promotion of indigenous organizational principles associated to time-space in all spheres of our lives.

These organizational principles and practices in function of natural time-space cycles will enable the development of new leadership that embodies the principles and values of the New Dawn.

Overarching goal

To create a network of specific programs that will reinforce Indigenous ways of life and their associated teachings through alternative forms of organization, leadership, cosmovision, and practices based on the philosophy of sacred time-space and cycles.
